  1. Thanks for another great episode guys!

Greg, I know the pain of recording and then learning later that some voices are too low and trying to amplify and tinker with audio after the fact, but I've never had to manipulate three plus hours of it like you did here! That's some serious, well-appreciated effort.

As for the quality, don't worry about it AT ALL because I thought you did a great job of ensuring everyone was heard and with the exception of a brief fade here or there during the phone calls, and one cool, Inception-level noise when someone brushed a mic--I wouldn't have even known there was a problem unless you had mentioned it. Stellar job on that element alone.

Content-wise, what all of you brought to the table was impressive. You've covered so many movies with some great enthusiasm. Lots of mention of Miike, so I'll put some additional emphasis on one mentioned here but not reviewed: The Quiet Family. No, Miike didn't direct this or have anything to do with it, but his 2001 movie The Happiness of the Katakuris is essentially a wild remake of The Quiet Family. And I'd definitely recommend seeing them both.

Off of horror, but connecting Jee-Woon Kim (directors of I Saw the Devil) and Kang-ho Song (star of The Host)is an extremely fun action-adventure comedy western called 'The Good, the Bad and the Weird' which is just lots of high-octane goofy fun. Strongly recommend that one.

Like you've mentioned many times in the episode, Korean cinema seems to be defined by the fact they view what we call 'genre' more as tone, and that themes and characters direct their films with the tones shifting constantly like sand.

As far as next destinations on this journey, I'd throw my hat in the ring for Nordic horror, encapsulating lots of great stuff including heavy hitters like Carl Dreyer and Ingmar Bergman, and the late, great Max Von Sydow.

    Have a good one guys!

  2. Hello Nathan, Thank You for listening to the show and especially for your feedback. I am so glad the audio is tolerable and I really did bust my ass to make sure I salvaged the show and I appreciate you saying the kind words.
I have seen The Happiness Of The Katakuris and it is very strange and yet entertaining as hell so I definitely want to check out the Quiet Family. I will put The Good The Bad and The Ugly on my watch list. Thank You for the recommendation.
Nordic Horror sounds very interesting and will make sure that the Horror Express makes a stop there in The future. Thank You once again for listening and commenting. Your friend and host GregaMortis
